Founded in Germany in 2005, Swoopo is one of the world’s most innovative auction sites. It is a penny auctions type.

In 2000, Swoopo’s online auction system is different from that of customary online auctions like eBay. The site charges people to make a bid. Swoopo also allows bidders to bid only in fixed amounts ($0.15) and then pay $0.75 per bid. Users bid, which increases the price of the product by 15 cents and the auction countdown by up to 20 seconds. The final bidder wins. The company sells premium products like: computers, cameras, game consoles and even cars, at very low prices. Swoopo auctions over 10,000 products per month and has more than 2,500,000 registered customers. Among the categories featured on the auctions are bags, cameras, cell phones, appliances, computers and accessories, and the like. The company is the creator of “Entertainment Shopping“ on the internet, an is, one of the first companies to combine e-commerce and entertainment. Swoopo.com is operated by Entertainment Shopping. The web site is available in Germany, US, Canada, Austria, and Spain. Besides Munich, the company also operates offices in London and Silicon Valley.

Auctions and Internet Stores
Online auctions are very similar to regular auction where people can buy and sell any goods by offering them up for bid, taking bids, and then selling the item to the winning bidder. Basically, an auction is a way of selling product at its maximum variable price at the moment. Besides archiving the final goal of buying or selling something, the process of itself can be very exciting and fun! There are many auctions available on Internet these days, the biggest are Amazon , eBay , and Yahoo! Auction . Internet shops are ideal solutions for every company, dealing in trade. The internet shop is intended to sell. The maintenance of such a shop is significantly smaller, than the maintenance of the common shop. The internet shop has other undoubted advantages: no need of looking for a profitable place for it, the Internet shop is open 24 hours a day and 365 hours a year, for its maintenance, hiring many trade managers is not necessary, in the internet shop, can be presented goods, not available in stock, creation of sites of the type internet shop is much more effective than renting expensive premises for business development. The standard internet shop includes: good quality web design, electronic catalogue of products, shopping basket, calculator of orders, electronic and e-mail message to the mail box of the consumer and the administrator of the internet shop.
